MEET THE APPRENTICES
Our Indigenous apprentices are a dynamic and diverse group of courages and creative individuals from all walks of life. They learn from us as much as we learn from them.
Wessley Armstrong is a 20-year-old proud Boigu man from the Torres Strait Islands.
Wessley first found out about Flashpoint Labs when he was in University on a university Facebook page. From there he attended the 4-week Indigenous Photography & Videography workshop which FPL ran in Nov 2016 thanks to being given a $10k community grant from the Westpac Foundation. During the 4 weekend workshops Wes learned everything from shooting and editing photos, to organising and shooting a video interview. He was offered an opportunity to become a paid Flashpoint Labs photographers apprentice in 2017 and has been on jobs with clients such as IKEA and Westpac.
Wessley is always growing and learning on every opportunity he gets. His duties as an apprentice range from shooting, editing, looking after equipment and general client liaison.
Originally from Newcastle, Wessley first discovered his passion for film when he was in high school and now has a driven focus to achieve his goals.
We are excited to have Wessley on board with Flashpoint Labs and are exciting for you to meet him and be apart of his story.

My name is Keisha Webb and I am a proud Gumbaynggirr woman from the North Coast of NSW. I have numerous experience working within the photography space; from assisting producers and photographers with campaigns with clients such as Wrangler, General Pants Co, Havianas, Sportsgirl to shooting with Flashpoint Labs for clients such as Commonwealth Bank and Macquarie Group. I have volunteered my time with The Aboriginal Education Consultative Group where I have worked with other Aboriginal and Islander youth which led to an event that gave the opportunity to present my body of work at an exhibition titled ‘Niu Warrior’ at the Casula Powerhouse museum. I look forward to learning more and developing not only my creative skills through the job, but also life skills along the way.
